Terms & Conditions

Last updated: May 31, 2026

Welcome to TECHBOX (accessible at techbox-aec.com). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, online courses, live training sessions, certification services, and any related content (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account, purchasing a course or session, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. About us

TECHBOX is an official professional training centre specialising in vocational and technical training for working professionals. Our programmes cover industry protocols (such as KNX building and home automation), engineering software tools, and applied workplace skills used in real-world projects.

TECHBOX is not a university, college, school, institute, academy, or any other accredited academic body. We do not award academic degrees, diplomas, or formal academic qualifications, and our courses are not part of any formal academic curriculum or accredited educational programme.

2. Accounts

To purchase training, enrol in sessions, or earn certificates, you must register an account using either an email address or a supported social login (currently Google). You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate, current, and complete information;
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials;
  • All activities that occur under your account;
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including but not limited to fraudulent payment activity, sharing of account credentials, or unauthorised distribution of course materials.

3. Courses, sessions & purchases

We offer two types of professional training:

  • Recorded (self-paced) courses — accessible online for the period stated at purchase.
  • Live training sessions — instructor-led workshops on specific dates with limited seats.

All prices are displayed in the currency shown at checkout (USD unless stated otherwise) and include applicable taxes where required. We accept payment via Stripe, PayPal, direct bank transfer, and other methods listed at checkout. Payment is required in advance to confirm enrolment.

Live session enrolments are confirmed in the order received and subject to seat availability. A confirmation email is sent once payment is processed.

4. Cancellations & refunds

Recorded courses: Because access is granted immediately on purchase, recorded courses are non-refundable once you have logged in and accessed any course content. If you have not yet accessed the course, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase.

Live sessions:

  • 14+ days before the session start date: full refund (minus payment processor fees) or transfer to a future session.
  • 3–14 days before: 50% refund or full credit toward a future session.
  • Less than 3 days before, or after the session has started: no refund.

If TECHBOX cancels a session for any reason, you will receive a full refund or, at your option, the right to attend a rescheduled session at no additional cost.

Refund requests must be submitted via email to academy@techbox-aec.com with your order number. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 14 business days of approval.

5. Certificates

Certificates of completion are issued automatically upon successful completion of a course or attendance of a live session. Each certificate carries a unique credential ID (format TBX-XXXXXXXXXXXX) and a QR code linking to a public verification page at techbox-aec.com/verify/{code}.

Nature of our certificates. All TECHBOX certificates are professional training certificates issued under our authority as a recognised training partner of the relevant official industry certification bodies (such as the KNX Association and equivalent organisations for the protocols, software tools, and technical disciplines we teach). They confirm that the holder has successfully completed professional training in industry protocols, software, and applied work practices — they are professional credentials, not academic ones. They do not constitute a degree, diploma, academic qualification, or any form of accredited academic credential, and they do not confer academic standing.

The public verification page displays the holder’s name, the course or session title, the issue date, and the credential ID. This information is intentionally public so that employers, clients, and other interested parties can verify authenticity. By accepting a certificate, you consent to this limited public disclosure.

We reserve the right to revoke a certificate at any time if we determine that it was issued in error, fraudulently obtained, or based on misconduct. Revoked certificates display a “Revoked” status on the public verification page.

6. Intellectual property

All course materials, videos, PDFs, slides, exam questions, and certificate designs are the property of TECHBOX or its licensors and are protected by copyright laws. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use these materials for your own professional development purposes only.

You may not:

  • Share, redistribute, sell, or publicly post any course materials;
  • Record live sessions without explicit written consent;
  • Reverse-engineer, copy, or imitate course curricula for commercial purposes;
  • Use any part of the Service to train artificial intelligence models or aggregate content for resale.

7. User conduct

You agree not to use the Service to engage in any unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or disruptive behaviour, including disrupting live sessions, harassing instructors or fellow trainees, or attempting to gain unauthorised access to TECHBOX systems or other users’ accounts.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we strive to provide accurate, up-to-date professional training content, TECHBOX makes no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific learning objectives. Industry standards and software tools evolve and we update content as quickly as reasonably possible.

Our training is intended for professional and vocational development. It does not replace formal academic education, professional licensure that may be required in your jurisdiction, or specific qualifications mandated by employers or regulators. You are responsible for confirming that the training meets your own professional or regulatory requirements before purchase.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TECHBOX’s total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the Service will not exceed the total amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Privacy

Our handling of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to registered users at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at TECHBOX’s principal place of business. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of that place, unless required otherwise by applicable consumer-protection laws of your country of residence.
